Neurodiversity University:

A new initiative to raise awareness and acceptance of neurocognitive, communicative, social, behavioral, and physical differences; defining subjectivity in terms that emphasize ability and variation and strengths, rather than disability and disorder and deficits.

Current and future activities include public symposia, interdisciplinary research panels, visiting scholar talks, film screenings & discussions, creative showcases, facilitated support initiatives and mentorship, instructional materials development, reading and discussion groups, community outreach, etc .

Programs to date include the semester-long film series, “Abilities” in Fall 2014 and the Neurodiversity University Symposium in Spring 2015.

Neurodiversity University was founded by Professor Anne Ciecko, University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
